A team of four professors and 22 students from the Millennia Institute, Singapore, visited the capital region on Tuesday under the aegis of Amaravati Partnership Office (APO) of the Singapore Ministry of Trade and Industry to study the local history, culture, economy and lifestyles and development of the capital city.
E. Sivanagi Reddy, historian , and APO director (institutional development) Eric Tan took the visitors around Amaravati.
Mr. Reddy briefed them on the historical significance of the Buddhist rock-cut caves at Undavalli, Rudramadevi birthday inscription at Mandadam village and the 125-foot-high Dhyanabuddha sculpture at Amaravathi.
