Deputy Speaker Mandali Buddha Prasad on Monday launched the biography of Vignan Group of Educational Institutions, Lavu Rathaiah, at the latter’s 63rd birthday celebrations held on Monday. The book titled, ‘Padandi Munduku,’ is penned by journalist Aruna Pappu and captures the life and times of Dr. Rathaiah.
Addressing a gathering of students and people drawn from various walks of life, Mr. Buddha Prasad said that life of Dr. Rathaiah was a role model to younger generation and his personality mirrored his fondness for Telugu culture. Born in Pedanandipadu, a village on Guntur-Parchur road, Mr Rathaiah had dreamt big and came up the hard way, he said.
Reviewing the book, ‘Navya,’ Editor A. Jagganatha Sharma said that the book was written in a fluid style capturing the entire gamut of emotions. The writer deserved accolades for capturing the several life changing moments in the life of Dr. Rathaiah.
Cine lyricist Bhavana Chandra also said that the life of Dr. Rathaiah was worthy of emulation by the younger generation.
While acknowledging the accolades, Dr. Rathaiah said that he was humbled at the way children and their parents continue to put trust in him for the last 35 years. Each chapter in this book was intended to motivate younger generation.
Former Union Minister J.D Seelam, MLC K.S Lakshmana Rao, retired ASP Kalahasti Satyanarayana and former OSD N. Samuel were present.
