The Krishna district administration has made arrangements for making pension payments at the doorsteps of 7,971 beneficiaries under the first phase of Inter-Operable Banking System (IBS) from April 1. Bank accounts of 55,004 persons were linked up with the IBS and 2,63,986 remained to be brought under its purview, said Collector Babu A.
At a bankers’ meet here on Friday, Mr. Babu said the first phase of distributing pensions would be under way at 47 locations and more beneficiaries would be covered eventually. Staff would gather details at the doorsteps of beneficiaries and facilitate opening of bank accounts .
Applications for opening the accounts would be given and filled-in ones taken on the spot. Banking correspondents and others would be on the job during the next 10 days.
