The Srisailam Reservoir can hold another 50 tmcft of water, while Nagarjunasagar can hold another 125 tmcft. Given the present inflows, it would take another 175 days for the two reservoirs to be filled to their capacities.
Out of the 16,000 cusecs of water being received by the head pond of Prakasam Barrage, nearly 10,000 cusecs are being released to the Krishna Eastern Main Canal that irrigates the delta area in Krishna and West Godavari district.
