Five robbers held, 1 kg jewellery seized

Sleuths of Central Crime Station (CCS) apprehended five robbers involved in several theft cases. The accused were wanted in many cases in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States.

Disclosing this to the newsmen here on Tuesday, City Police Commissioner A.B. Venkateswara Rao said the CCS police under supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Addl DCP-Crimes) G. Ramakoteswara Rao arrested N. Suresh alias Yerrodu and his brother N. Vinod of Krishna district and P. Umamaheswara Rao of Guntur district.

Suresh was an ex-convict and he along with his accomplices was involved in several robberies in Krishna, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Rangareddy, East Godavari, Nellore and other districts. Police opened suspect sheets against Suresh and Umamaheswara Rao in Satyanarayanapuram police station in Vijayawada.

Police recovered 915 grams of gold ornaments, worth about Rs. 25 lakh from their possession, said Mr. Venkateswara Rao.

In another case, the CCS police arrested V. Satish of Krishna district and P. Sashi Kumar, of Moosapet in Hyderabad. They recovered 50 grams of gold jewellery and 167 grams of silver ornaments, valued about Rs. 2.26 lakh, said the Police Commissioner.

DCP (Law and Order) L. Kalidas Venkataranga Rao, DCP (Administration) G.V.G. Ashok Kumar were present.
