Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devasthanam has stated that all necessary arrangements are in place for Dasara festival which begins on Tuesday.
Addressing a press conference in Vijayawada on Monday, Devasthanam Executive Officer M. Raghunath said the temple was expecting a rush of 50,000 to 60,000 people on every day, excluding Moola Nakshatram and Vijaya Dasami.
On Moola Nakshatram (October 20), the rush is expected to touch 3 lakhs, while it would be around 2.5 lakhs on Vijadasami.
Medical camps
As many as 12 medical camps would be organised throughout the 9-day Dasara festival.
Of which, 7 camps would be organised along the queue lines, and remaining at ghats and other locations that lead to the temple.
Free buses
The temple would ply the free buses for aged and physically challenged with private and police bandobust to ensure that other devotees do not board the buses.
Special kumkumarchana would be performed at Bhavani deeksha mandapam every day.
The devotees could take part in the archana by paying Rs. 1,116. On first day of Dasara, the kumkumarchana would be performed from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, and on remaining days from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and again from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
The devotees could participate in Sata chandi yagam by paying Rs.1,116, he said. The temple has made arrangements for ‘annadanam’ at Vadlamannadi satram located on Arjuna veedhi.
At the Kanaka Durga Nagar, the ‘prasadam’ counters were opened to sell the ‘pulihora’ and ‘laddu prasadam’. The temple has decided to distribute free ‘prasadam’ to every devotee who had darshan, he added.
