Vigilance and Enforcement officials on Friday seized 90 bags of rice, meant for beneficiaries of the Public Distribution System (PDS), at Repalle when it was being transported illegally in a lorry. Habeeb, a smuggler of Karlapalem, was suspected to be involved in the racket. The officials seized the vehicle and criminal cases were registered against the accused, said Regional Vigilance and Enforcement Officer R.N. Ammi Reddy.
