District Collector M. Raghunandana Rao participated in the Armed Forces Flag Day here on Friday. He donated fund to the welfare of the families of the army personnel who are serving at different places across the country.
Mr. Rao appealed to public to donate fund voluntarily to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives in discharging their duties. The Collector inaugurated the fund donation programme at his camp office.
“It is our responsibility to protect and take care of the armed forces and their families who are fighting against terrorists on the borders enabling us to lead a peaceful life,” said the Collector.
NCC cadets of various institutions collected funds for the army personnel at various places in the district. Additional Joint Collector B.L. Chennakesava Rao and other officers contributed to the fund.
Ex-servicemen K. Ravindra, Narasimha Rao, Trivikram, N. Sankar Rao, and Gopalakrishna, District Sainik Welfare Officer G. Satyanandam, staff of Sanik Welfare Office and officers of various departments participated in the programme.
