TREAT signs MoU with colleges

To step up cooperation between industry and academia

In a move to step up cooperation between industry and academia, the Tiruchirappalli Engineering and Technology Cluster (TREAT) on Monday signed Memorandums of Understanding with engineering colleges.

It enables the students to visit, study and carry out research with the facilities available on TREAT premises, on the outskirts of Tiruchi on Chennai Road.

They can interact with experts and workforce of industries.

G.K. Muralidharan, Managing Director, TREAT, said the idea was to provide industrial exposure to engineering students.

They could spend considerable time with TREAT premises and member companies.

They could carry out real time research in cooperation with the engineers working in industries.

He said trained people would be appointed for guiding students on machineries, functioning and their applications. Faculty members also could utilise the facilities.

Mr. Muralidharan said the TREAT would offer value added services to member companies like technology on enhancing production quality, product diversification, Research and Development, skill development and others.

In the first phase, MAM group of engineering colleges, Oxford group of engineering colleges and CARE group of institutions signed the MoUs.

T. Chinnadurai, Chief Executive Officer, TREAT, M. Srinivasan, Pattabiraman, S. Sampath, S. Angayarsamy, Directors, TREAT, took part.
