Special trains from Chennai to Tirunelveli today

Southern Railway has announced that special trains would be operated from Chennai Beach to Tirunelveli and Chennai Beach to Rameswaram on December 5 to clear the stranded passengers in Chennai.

The Chennai Beach–Tirunelveli special will leave Chennai Beach at 12.30 p.m. and proceed via Perambur, Tiruvallur, Arakkonam, Katpadi, Villupuram, Vriddhachalam, Tiruchi, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Kovilpatti, and Vanchi Maniyachi. The Chennai Beach–Rameswaram will leave Chennai Beach at 12.30 p.m. and pass via Katpadi, Salem, Karur, Tiruchi, Karaikkudi, and Manamadurai, a Southern Railway release here said.

A special passenger train was operated from Tiruchi to Chengalpattu on Friday at 2 p.m. The train was operated with open timings.

Southern Railway operated special trains from Chennai Egmore to Kanyakumari, Chennai Egmore – Sengottai, Chennai Egmore – Tuticorin and Chennai Egmore – Madurai on Friday night.

The trains were operated via Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Vriddhachalam, Tiruchi, and Dindigul.

Another special train was operated from Chennai Egmore to Thanjavur via Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Tirupadiripuliyur, Chidambaram, Mayiladuthurai, and Kumbakonam.

The Lokmanya Tilak Terminus – Madurai (11043) scheduled to leave Lokmanya Tilak terminus on Friday will be diverted via Arakkonam, Katpadi, Villupuram and Vriddhachalam, the release added.
