Personal Assistant to Collector dies in accident

Personal Assistant (Accounts) to the Collector, Pudukottai, succumbed to injuries she sustained in a road accident in the town on Wednesday.

The deceased, T. Balachandra, 57, Personal Assistant to Collector, was riding pillion on a motorcycle driven by her husband Thirugnanasambandam in the late hours on Tuesday when a two-wheeler rider rammed their vehicle from behind at South Fourth Street in Pudukottai town.

The woman fell down along with her husband and sustained head injury. She was admitted to the Pudukottai Medical College Hospital where she succumbed on Wednesday morning. The Pudukottai Town Police has registered a case.
