A surprise check was carried out at localities in Manakarambai panchayat in Thanjavur Panchayat Union on Wednesday to determine the awareness level of the public to eradicate dengue.

District Collector A. Annadurai who led a team of officials urged the public to ensure that pots or other containers in the open are kept closed to prevent breeding of aedes mosquitoes.

The Collector who was on a tour to inspect ‘kudimaramathu’ works in the Panchayat Union conducted the exercise all of a sudden.
