Now, book unreserved tickets on mobile phone

The Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) on mobile has been extended to Tiruchi division and passengers can avail the facility to book tickets through the App, the Southern Railway has announced.

Passengers can get printed tickets from the Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs) at the stations after booking the tickets through their mobile phones by giving their mobile number and the booking ID.

Unreserved tickets can be booked using the App for travel from Tiruchi Junction, Thanjavur, Mayiladuthurai, Villupuram, Vridhachalam, Kumbakonam, Puducherry, Nagapattinam, Nagore, Tiruvannamalai, Sirkazhi and Chidambaram.

The App can be downloaded from Google Play Store or Windows and passengers can register as users and charge his R-wallet (Railway wallet). Passengers have the option of getting the Railway wallet charged either at UTS counters or by logging on to https:// www.utsonmobile.indian rail.gov.in

After charging the R-wallet, passengers can book an unreserved ticket on his phone.

Booking of mobile UTS tickets can also be done by using other payment options such as debit or credit cards, Net banking, Paytm or Mobikwik wallets.

Passengers must carry the printed tickets and cannot travel without the same . In case, the passenger finds any difficulty in getting the ticket from ATVM, they can contact the UTS booking counter for getting the ticket.

A help line for the passengers in this regard has been activated and it could be contacted by dialling 0431-2418992, a press release said.
