Notebooks donated

To students of government schools

:As part of corporate social responsibility the Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited (TNPL) donated notebooks to students of government schools in the Kagithapuram neighbourhood of Karur district.

Around 6,000 students studying in 44 government schools in Kagithapuram, Punnam, Nanjai Pugalur, Punjai Pugalur, Vettamangalam, Thirukkaduthurai, Kombupalayam and Punjai Thottakurichi benefited.

Notebooks were distributed directly to the students in the presence of panchayat representatives and heads of institutions of the schools.

The scheme 32 primary Schools, 7 middle Schools, one high School and four higher secondary schools. The TNPL undertook the gesture at an estimated cost of Rs. 7 lakh.

TNPL General Manager (Operations) R. Mani inaugurated the distribution at a function held at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Pugalur, in the presence of the District Elementary Education Officer S. Venkatachalam and General Manager (Human Resources) T. Francis Devotta.
