Twenty-four teams have been formed, says Collector T. Anbalagan.
He said that 12 flying squads, comprising revenue and police officials, would patrol different parts of the district to monitor campaign and activities of political parties and candidates round-the-clock.
They have been instructed to check vehicles and monitor whether cash or kind was distributed to voters. Criminal action would be taken against those attempting to bribe voters.
Another 12 static surveillance teams would be positioned at vulnerable spots and entry points to the district to seize unaccounted cash. They would check all vehicles to find whether or not the occupants carried unaccounted cash. If they carried more than ₹ 50,000 in cash, they should possess valid documents.
Earlier, he inspected the functioning of static surveillance teams at Manavasi near Mayanur and Andipattikottai near Aravakurichi along with Superintendent of Police T.K. Rajasekaran.
