Teacher education centres to offer B.Ed.

: After a year’s gap, the teacher education centres of the University of Kerala in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha and Pathanamthitta will once again offer the B.Ed. course.

The notification calling for admissions has been posted on the website www.keralaunivesity.ac.in.

The course was discontinued at these centres as per a directive from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

Later, after Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Education Minister P. K. Abdu Rabb intervened on behalf of the varsity, the Council agreed to allow resumption of the course.

50 students

In the first year, each training centre will take in 50 students. The course at these centres will have the same prospectus as the university has prepared for government/aided/ self-financing B.Ed colleges.

Course discontinued at these centres as per a directive from the National Council for Teacher Education.
