Protect Ayurveda college: DYFI

Published - December 25, 2012 12:03 pm IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) has accused the government of not doing enough to nurture and protect Government Ayurveda College, which used to be one of the premier teaching hospitals in Ayurveda in the country.

In a statement here, the DYFI said that the hospital was in a state of neglect and that the Ayurvedic treatmentshad become unaffordable to the poor. There was heavy shortage of medicines, treatment costs had gone up, and the hospital no longer offered free food to patients, it said.

The DYFI would lead an agitation demanding that the institution be protected.
