One hacked to death at Poonthura

One person was killed and another injured after being hacked by a gang following a dispute in Poonthura on Saturday.

According to the Poonthura police, the deceased has been identified as Mohammed Shah (45), who hailed from Kallambalam. He along with Nizar (42), who also hails from Kallambalam, has been working as field workers in a jewellery outlet. They had gone to collect dues from a person, identified as Subair. However, the visit resulted in an argument, following which Subair, along with six other persons, intercepted the duo and attacked them using knifes. The injured persons were soon rushed to a private hospital. The incident occurred around 6.30 p.m. at Paruthukuzhy. The police have registered a case.
