: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said here on Saturday that the CPI(M) charge that he was trying to build bridges with the BJP and RSS through the SNDP Yogam was meant only to gain political mileage.

In a statement, Mr. Chandy said he was convinced that the followers of Sree Narayana Guru would not allow the SNDP Yogam to be surrendered before the RSS.

Secular sections of Kerala society would not believe CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Pinarayi Vijayan’s charge against him.

Mr. Chandy said he had always stood firm in the secular democratic movement in the country and he did not require any certificate from Mr. Vijayan for his secular credentials.
