Drinking water fountains at airport

July 25, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 06:03 am IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

To provide good quality drinking water and to prevent littering of plastic and paper cups, water coolers have been replaced with water fountains at the Thiruvananthapuram international airport.

Drinking water fountains have been installed at nine locations of T-2 terminal (international) by the Airports Authority of India.

People can drink water directly from the fountain without using cups.

Airport Director George G. Tharakan said the water fountains, installed at a cost of Rs.25 lakh, had been manufactured by a US-based company.
