2,100 dengue cases in Capital

Among the 3,100 dengue cases reported from across the State, 2,100 are from Thiruvananthapuram district, Health Minister K.K. Shylaja told the Assembly on Wednesday.

Of these, a majority of cases have been reported from the city Corporation limits. Mosquito nets are being distributed in General Hospital here. It has come to the attention of the government that health-care professionals too have contracted dengue fever.

Trauma-care units

Modelled on the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, trauma-care units would be set up in select hospitals in the State. The government plans to set up palliative and chemotherapy facilities in all district hospitals.
