A 26-year-old youth went missing and is feared drowned after he accidentally slipped and fell into the Arabi Falls at Parappady, Nitte village, under Karkala Rural Police Station limits in Udupi district on Thursday.
According to the police, a group of four friends, Sudesh, Bharat Poojary, Rakesh and Santosh, had gone to the Arabi Falls.
All the four were taking selfies on their mobile phones, when Sudesh (26) and Bharath (31) accidentally slipped and fell into the waters, at around 2.30 p.m.
Bharath managed to swim back to safety.
But Sudesh was carried away by the waters. Soon after getting information about the accident, the police and the personnel from the Fire and Emergency Services rushed to the spot and launched a search for Sudesh.
