M.T. Krishna Babu, an Indian Administrative Service officer of the 1993 batch, Andhra Pradesh cadre, assumed charge as the Chairman of New Mangalore Port Trust with effect from July 1.
Mr. Babu, now Chairman of the Visakhapatnam Port, was instrumental in guiding that port on the path of excellence in cargo handling as well as developing it as a green port, a release from NMPT here said.
A qualified Engineer, Mr. Babu commenced his career with NTPC. He has held various positions in local, provincial and Central governments as an IAS officer. He has wide experience in the infrastructure sector and has also held additional charge as Chairman of the Paradip Port Trust, Kolkata Port Trust and Haldia Dock Complex.
