Cruise vessel Celebrity Constellation called at New Mangalore Port (NMP) recently while its guests visited places of tourist importance around the city.

The Malta flagged passenger vessel having the length of 294 m started its voyage from Cochin Port with 2,100 passengers and 1,100 crew members. This is the longest passenger vessel of this season calling at the port, said a release.

Port Chairman M.T. Krishna Babu with senior port officials visited the vessel as courtesy to understand the experience of people with the port. He emphasised initiatives taken by NMP to boost cruise tourism and stated that after completion of ongoing project of upgrading existing terminal to state-of-the-art cruise terminal, NMP would be one of the most soughtafter tourist destinations by cruise lines.
