Bank branch shifts to new building

Meeting today

Deputy Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim has convened a meeting in the zilla panchayat, Kottara, on Monday at 9.30 a.m. to decide about reservation to the posts of president and vice-president of gram panchayats in Mangaluru taluk. All elected representatives can attend, an official release said.

Power shutdown

There will be no power supply to some areas in Udupi district on Monday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The areas are Perdoor, Baje, Hirebettu and Parkala, Hebri, Mahe. It is due to maintenance works, a MESCOM release said.

Convocation

The annual convocation of Mangalore University will be conducted on June 17 at 11 a.m. at Mangala auditorium. The former director of Indian Institute of Science Govardan Mehta will deliver the convocation address. Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala and Minister for Higher Education R.V. Deshpande will participate.

The Kodialbail branch of the South Canara District Central Cooperative Bank will start functioning from the new Uthkrustha Sahakari Soudha at Kodialbail from Monday.

The branch will function from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Training in driving

Department of Social Welfare has invited applications from candidates of Scheduled Caste to train them in light motor vehicle driving and autorickshaw driving. The last date to apply is June 16. Details can be had from its Mangalore taluk office.
