‘Article 19’ in Manipal from tomorrow

The School of Communication, a constituent of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, will organise its annual communication fest ‘Article-19’ here from February 8 to 10.

Director of School of Communication Padma Rani told reporters here on Tuesday that the event will include seminars, talks by eminent persons, as well as competitive and cultural programmes.

It will be inaugurated by media personality Vasanthi Hariprakash at 9 a.m. on Thursday. She will speak on “Is your degree enough to conquer the world of media and communication”.

Senior journalist Rajeev Bhattacharyya will speak on “The current media functioning in the North East”, while author and social entrepreneur Srijan Pal Singh will deliver a lecture on “The nation of Dr. Kalam’s dream – The Fourth Industrial Revolution”. Vinod K. Jose, an alumnus of SOC and Executive Editor of ‘The Caravan’ will speak on “How to run a political magazine in present-day India”. Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, Director of the film ‘Pink,’ too will address the audience.

The three-day programme will also comprise several offline and online competitions in the fields of film, fine arts, and performing arts among others, giving the delegates from media schools across the country an array of activities to participate in.
