Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru district Abhiram G. Sankar has directed officials to accept the applications submitted by farmers for the Prime Minister’s Kisan Samman Nidhi even on Sunday.

Under the Union government scheme, small and marginal farmers will receive ₹6,000 per annum in three equated instalments.

The farmers should visit the nearest gram panchayat office, Raitha Samparka Kendra, Nada Kacheri or Atalji Janasnehi Kendra and submit their application.

The centres accepting the application forms, which were open on Saturday, will function on Sunday also.

The Deputy Commissioner, in a communication to the Joint Director of Agriculture, Mysuru; Deputy Director, Horticulture Department, Mysuru; Deputy Director, Sericulture; all tahsildars in Mysuru district; and executive officers of all taluks in Mysuru district, pointed out that the Secretary to the Government of Karnataka had expressed disappointment over the slow progress in registration of farmers for the scheme, under which the last date for submitting applications is June 28.
