Students of St. Aloysius College took out a peace march from the college campus to the Deputy Commissioner's office on Wednesday to draw attention to the growing communal discord in the city.

Street play

The students, who staged a street play highlighting the role of politicians in fomenting communal tension, submitted a memorandum to the district administration. Expressing concern over the fear psychosis that had spread among the citizens owing to the violence, the memorandum stated that normal life was being severely affected by frequent outbreaks of violence, the call for bandhs and imposition of prohibitory orders.

The memorandum was titled “We have no peace as we have forgotten that we belong to each other.”
