Police get 10 new cars, 30 motorcycles

Minister for Ports and Fisheries J. Krishna Palemar handed over 10 cars and 30 motorcycles to the police under Mangalore Police Commissionerate on Wednesday.

Commissioner of Police Seemanth Kumar Singh told presspersons here that the jeeps would be handed over to 10 police stations and 15 police stations would be given two motorcycles each. He said works of the new office building of the Commissionerate here was expected to be completed in three months.

R. Ramesh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), said the cars would be under police control room. The control room would send the vehicles to the scene of crime, accident or other emergency spots. The cars and motorcycles had been added additionally to the existing infrastructure, he said.
