The Principal District and Sessions Judge, Uma M.G. on Thursday convicted a 29-year-old bus conductor for sodomising a 9-year-old boy.

According to the charge-sheet filed by Surathkal police, Tejaksha, the accused, threatened the boy while he was walking towards his house after getting down at the bus stop. He then took the boy to an isolated place in Palkilachhilu on September 30, 2013 where he forced the boy into ‘unnatural sex’ and threatened him if the boy revealed about the incident.

The boy narrated the incident to his mother, who filed a complaint with the Surathkal police. The police arrested him and filed charge-sheet in November 2013.

Public Prosecutor Pushparaj Adhyantaya examined the boy and 12 other witnesses including two doctors who said about the boy being subjected to anal sex.

The Judge has convicted Tejaksha under Sections 341 (wrongful restraint), 377 (unnatural offences) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. She has also convicted Tejaksha under Sections 4 and 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. The Judge will be hearing on the quantum of the sentence on Saturday.
