Madurai City police have announced traffic diversions between Kalavasal Junction and Arapalayam bus stand from June 11, Tuesday, to June 30 to facilitate launching of girders for the flyover under construction at Kalavasal.
A statement said movement of vehicles from Kalavasal junction towards Guru theatre junction will be suspended during this period. Two-wheelers and light vehicles from Kalavasal junction will have to go to Arasaradi junction, turn left to take AA Road through Gnanavolivupuram and take a left turn towards DD Road to reach Guru theatre junction.
However, heavy vehicles and buses from Kalavasal junction must go through Arasaradi Junction, New Jail Road and turn left to take West Ponnagaram Main Road and Sonaiyarkoil junction to reach Arapalayam bus stand.
However, vehicles from Arapalayam-Guru Theatre junction can use the existing road to reach Kalavasal junction as usual.
Light vehicles from Periyar bus stand to Guru Theatre junction should go through Arasaradi junction, AA Road and DD Road and heavy vehicles should take Arasaradi junction, New Jail Road, West Ponnagaram Road and Arapalayam junction.
