Indira, working as Head Mistress in the Government Primary School, Ayyampatti village near Gujiliamparai, staged a dharna at the office of Chief Educational Officer Manivannan, here on Thursday.
Based on a complaint by the CEO, the Dindigul West Police took her for interrogation.
In a meeting held for HMs of Primary Schools on Tuesday chaired by the CEO, she had staged a dharna, seeking a transfer. She complained that only two students have been attending classes in the third standard, at the school she works in. She alleged that the Government has not been taking any steps to increase the strength of the school by attracting more students.
The HM, was subsequently suspended by the CEO on Wednesday.
On Thursday, she demanded that the suspension be revoked and staged a sit-in protest.
