To ensure a swift grievance redressal system, the Madurai Corporation has introduced an initiative where residents can submit petitions, which can be redressed within two days, on every Wednesday.

Around 4 wards will be selected from each Zone and residents from these wards can register their complaints from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the designated offices on every Wednesday, starting from July 10.

Petitions on approval of building plans, for issuance of birth and death certificates, for laying new underground pipelines for drinking water and sewage can be submitted.

On July 10, residents of Arapalayam (ward 10), Ponnagaram (ward 11) and Krishnapalayam (ward 12) can submit their petitions at the Kalaivanar Maternity Home on Arapalayam Cross Road. For Zone 2, residents of Masthanpatti (ward 29), Melamadai (ward 30), Thasildar Nagar (ward 31) and Vandiyur (ward 32) can submit their complaints at the ward office in Melamadai.

Residents of Kamarajapuram (ward 70), Balarengapuram (ward 71), Navarathinapuram (ward 72) and Lakshmipuram (ward 73) can submit their petitions at the Zone 3 office of the Madurai Corporation. Residents of Sundarajapuram (ward 77), Veerakalai Amman Koil (ward 90) and Thennagaram (ward 91) can file their petitions at the ward office in Sundarajapuram.

On Thursday, July 11, works for the approved list of grievances will commence.
