E. Ranjith Kumar, 44, a realtor, was hacked to death by a gang at his house in Chittalachi Nagar along T.B. Main Road on Monday night.
The police said an armed gang hacked him with lethal weapons. His private parts were chopped by the assailants before his mother Jegathambal could raise an alarm. The gang fled the scene.
He was admitted to the Government Rajaji Hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
The deceased is a father of three children. His wife had deserted him a few years ago. The police are yet to nab the assailants and ascertain the motive. The S.S. Colony police are investigating.
