Gram sabha meeting to be held

MADURAI

Gram sabha meeting will be held in all the 420 village panchayats in the district on August 15 on the occasion of Independence day.

Villagers will discuss issues regarding manufacture and use of plastic, open defecation, construction and maintenance of toilets in primary health centres, schools and anganwadis.

Public will also be educated on Central government’s schemes, including Jal Shakti Abhiyan, a water conservation campaign, and the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme, according to a statement.
