The Childline rescued an 11-year-old girl from Thaniamangalam at Periyar bus stand in the city on Tuesday.

Director of Childline C. Jim Jesudoss said that the girl, D. Aarthi, was found at Periyar bus stand.

“She told us that she had run away from her house in Thaniamangalam after a quarrel with her sister and sister’s husband, following which she was asked to leave the house,” he said.

An enquiry with the girl revealed that she had no father and that her mother had left her three years back. She was in the care of her sister.
