VACB awaiting govt. nod for probing ex-Minister

Petitioner lodges another complaint

The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) will probe the role of former PWD Minister V. K. Ebrahim Kunju in the corruption related to the Palarivattom flyover case after obtaining sanction from the State government.

V. Syamkumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, Thiruvananthapruam, submitted before the Vigilance Special Court that the clearance of the competent authority was required for conducting the investigation against the former Minister in relation to the release of mobilisation advance and the conspiracy involved in the construction of the flyover.

Request submitted

A request for obtaining the permission has been submitted, the official submitted.

The petitioner in the case had lodged another complaint stating that ₹10 crore received as bribe by Mr. Kunju was invested in the mouthpiece of the Indian Union Muslim League. The Vigilance official submitted that the allegation will also be probed when the permission for probing the case was obtained.
