Students who passed the Standard XII All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE) with flying colours were felicitated at a merit evening organised by the Sahodaya Schools Complex, Kochi, an organisation of Principals of CBSE schools, here on Saturday.
Students honoured
The subject toppers and students who secured A1 in all subjects in the AISSCE were honoured and merit certificates were handed over.
Vice-Admiral K.N. Sushil (Retd), the former Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Naval Command, along with his wife, presented the certificates.

Vice-Admiral Sushil, in his address, observed that the career options available have grown exponentially compared to his school and college days.
He urged children to keep an open mind and take their talents and skills into consideration while choosing their career.
Welcome changes
He said there has been a drastic change in the school atmosphere which was welcome.
Child-centred
He also said schools and principals were more accommodative and child-centred.
Over 500 young achievers from 86 member schools participated in the function. Susan Cherian, the president of the Sahodaya Schools Complex, welcomed the gathering. The outgoing president C. S. Johny presented the report of the activities during the academic year 2011-2012. Secretary Jayaprabha Pradeep proposed a vote of thanks.
