President’s visit: traffic to be regulated in city

In view of the visit of President Ram Nath Kovind on Monday and Tuesday to Kochi, the city police have imposed restrictions on vehicular traffic.

Traffic will be regulated on the stretch passing through the Thoppumpady B.O.T Junction, Vathuruthy, Naval Base, Thevara, Park Avenue Road, Pallimukku, Jose Junction, and D.H. Road, from 5.45 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday.

Commuters moving between the city and West Kochi are advised to take the B.O.T East Junction-Thevara ferry-Kundannoor-Vyttila route.

Similarly, restrictions on vehicular traffic and parking will be in place from 8.30 a.m. till 10.30 a.m. on Tuesday at Thoppumpady B.O.T East Junction, Vathuruthy, Naval Base, Thevara, Park Avenue Road, Pallimukku, Jose Junction, D.H. Road, Park Avenue Road, Shanmukham Road, High Court Junction, Police club, Chathyath Junction, Bolghatty Junction and Ghoshree bridge.

Commuters heading to the city from West Kochi are required to enter the city from B.O.T East Junction via Kundannoor and Vyttila. The restrictions will come into effect exactly 30 minutes prior to the scheduled passing of the President’s convoy.
