Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) says it is in talks with former Government Chief Whip and Kerala Congress leader P.C. George regarding the for formation of a third political front ahead of elections to the local bodies in the State. State president of the SDPI K.M. Ashraf said here on Saturday that the first round of talks was held in Kozhikode about a week ago and preparations were on for the next round of talks.
The formation of the third front had been approved by the party secretariat, he said.
He was addressing a press conference here ahead of Sunday’s national committee meeting of the party in Aluva. The two-day meet is being held at the Shantigiri Ashram. The meeting will also elect new office-bearers.
