Minister stresses role of cost accountants

Revenue Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan has emphasised the role of cost accountants for ensuring social growth.

He was inaugurating the members' meet of the Cost and Management Accountants of the districts of Kottayam, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta and Idukki that was held here on Tuesday. The function was organised by the Kottayam chapter of the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWAI).

Mr. Radhakrishnan said that the service rendered by the accountants is inevitable for the industrial and financial growth of society. He also exhorted them to work hard to transform the dreams of the nation in various spheres into reality.

He later honoured senior professionals N.R. Bhattathiri, P.U. George, C.J. Joseph, T.D. Joseph and C. Narayanan Namboothiri, all of whom had graduated from the ICWAI.

P. Raju Iyer, secretary of the Southern India Regional Council, ICWAI, delivered the keynote address. Kottayam chapter chairman Benoy Varghese, secretary R. Muraleedharan Pillai, and director Raju P.T. also spoke on the occasion.
