In a shocking incident, a 48-year-old man was found dead on the terrace of his friend’s house at Pothanikad near Kothamangalam on Saturday morning.
According to the police, the body was identified as that of Prasad, a resident of Kuzhipillil, Pothanikad. It was found at the terrace of his friend Sajeevan, a resident of Kattuchira near Pothanikad. Sajeevan was taken into custody for interrogation after investigating officials recovered an airgun, which was reportedly owned by him, from the spot.
The butt of the gun made of wood was found damaged. The police said severe injuries were found on the victim’s face. They also dispelled initial rumours that the death had occurred due to a gunshot.
Prasad had been working at a poultry farm owned by Sajeevan. Reports suggested that the police were also interrogating a common friend of Sajeevan and Prasad. He is reported to have told the police that Sajeevan and Prasad had consumed liquor on the terrace of Sajeevan’s residence on Friday night.
