Biju Ramesh gets ‘bail’

The Ernakulam Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Wednesday granted anticipatory bail to Biju Ramesh, working president, Bar Owners Association on Wednesday in the defamation case filed by Excise Minister K Babu. Mr. Ramesh, appearing before the court was granted bail by the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate C S Shiju Sheikh Mubarack. The case pertains to a complaint filed by the Excise Minister that Mr.Ramesh, with an intention to defame him raised false allegations that he had accepted bribe from the bar owners.

The petition further stated that the allegations were made after the government decided to reduce liquor consumption by introducing new liquor policy.
