Minister opens ‘Arikkada’

The outlet will sell both subsidised and non-subsidised rice varieties

Kochi: Minister for Civil Supplies P. Thilothaman inaugurated ‘Arikkada’, an outlet that sells rice at regulated prices, at the Supplyco headquarters at Gandhi Nagar here on Monday. The shop is located close to the Supplyco hypermarket.

The outlet will sell both subsidised and non-subsidised rice varieties. The special Jaya variety will be sold at ₹25 and ₹26.50 a kg in subsidised and non-subsidised categories respectively. The price (per kg) of other varieties in subsidised and non-subsidised categories are: Andhra Jaya ₹25 (₹37); Matta ₹24 (₹34.50); raw rice ₹23 (₹27.50); Kuttanadan (₹33); Surekha (₹37) and premium rice (₹31.20).
