Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president A. Revanth Reddy questioned where the sacrifices being claimed by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) stand before the sacrifices made by the martyrs who lost their lives for the cause of separate state.
“TRS leader and minister T Harish Rao poured kerosene on himself, but could not get a match box. More than 1,200 people sacrificed their lives for Telangana. Where do the sacrifices made by your family stand before that of martyrs? Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao, have you ever honoured any family of these martyrs and had lunch with them?” asked Mr. Revanth Reddy while addressing a road show held at Narsapur on Monday. He also addressed roadside meetings at Shabhashpally and Shivampet.
There was very huge turnout for the road show, most of them youth. A motor cycle rally was also held from Narsapur to Kowdipally.
“Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao promised the moon. Have you got water? How many of you got double bedroom houses? Have you got three acres land?” he asked the gathering, to which there was a response of loud ‘No’ from the public. He also asked about one employment for each house as promised by Mr Chandrasekhar Rao, 12 per cent reservations for tribals and Muslims.
Stating that as many as five women were provided place in the Congress Cabinet, Mr Revanth Reddy asked why Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao had failed to offer even a single berth to women.
Congress aspirant from Narsapur constituency and former Minister V. Sunitha Lakshma Reddy said that the TRS leaders made ribbon cutting for the development programmes initiated by the previous Congress government. She has urged the public to compare the development between the Congress and TRS regimes.
