Three RTC buses damaged at Habsiguda

Unidentified miscreants suspected to be supporters of BSP chief Mayawati

Unidentified persons, believed to be supporters of Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati, damaged three APSRTC buses near the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology in Habsiguda on Thursday protesting over vandalising of her statue in Uttar Pradesh.

“The accused are said to be students of Osmania University. They are yet to be identified,” the OU Inspector, P. Ashok, said. Minutes before the attack in the evening, a group of students from the New Research Scholars Hostel of the campus took out a rally condemning the idol vandalising. They headed towards Tarnaka crossroads and burnt an effigy.

The protesters later dispersed but suddenly miscreants turned up on the road at the IICT and hurled stones at three city buses breaking their windows panes.
