The Telangana State Industrial and Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) has requested the Asian Development Bank to consider and support the two industrial corridors proposed by them.

The TSIIC will complete the detailed project reports in about two months for the Hyderabad-Warangal-Chattisgarh Industrial Corridor and the Hyderabad - Nagpur industrial corridor connecting State to north India -- and submit them to the Union government.

The State would share the details with the ADB for their consideration, said E.V. Narasimha Reddy, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, TSIIC., here on Friday.

He was speaking at the Seminar on International Business Opportunities under ADB Funded Projects organised by the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Telangana does not have any single project from the ADB, and the TSIIC would be approaching ADB, JICA for aid for some of the important projects.

The world’s largest pharma cluster project in15,000 acres of land in Phase I and II with an outlay of ₹15,000 crore is coming up in the State and the common effluent treatment plant alone would cost ₹7,000 crore. The ADB could help the State in funding.

Another major project in the State is the National Investment and Manufacturing Zone for which 3,500 acres were acquired and food processing would be a major component of it.

The third sector where ADB could help the State would be in Aerospace and Defence sector. The State already has three industrial parks for Aero and Defence, and the State would be providing 600 acres for Kalyani Rafale.

Mr.Somesh Kumar, Special Chief Secretary, Irrigation and CAD, Telangana recounted the achievements of Telangana under the “visionary” Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao -- particularly in power, irrigation and agriculture and several schemes for the socio-economic development of artisans. Telangana is the fastest growing State with 15.31% growth State. Later, ADB representatives Chandra Mohan Arora, Senior Procurement Officer, and Bisma Husen, Principal Procurement Specialist, in a presentation said ADB in India mainly funds projects in energy, ICT, transport, urban development, water and social sector comprising education, health, gender and poverty alleviation and offered business opportunities for interested firms and individuals in consulting services and goods, works and related services.

Asian Development Bank representatives have assured that they are inclined to invest in the State, specially in the multi-modal transport.

Arun Luharuka , president, FTCCI., welcomed the gathering.
