The Telugu Desam Party Telangana State unit has criticised Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao led State Government for not keeping the promises the ruling party made in the run up to the elections.
‘Hoodwinking people’
The TDP-TS alleged that the Government which lacked administrative experience was trying to hoodwink people by announcing new schemes every passing day. “The manner in which the Government is announcing the sops exposes lack of confidence in its own governance,” the TDP-TS said in an open letter to the Chief Minister.
The party recalled the promises made by the TRS including making Dalit as the Chief Minister, providing KG to PG education free of cost, three acre land to each Dalit family, job to each household and setting up of market intervention fund to stabilise the prices of agricultural produce whenever there were price fluctuations and compensating the families of youth who sacrificed their lives in the thick of the Telangana movement.
The Government’s failure to effectively monitor the agriculture sector resulted in over 3,000 suicides while the assurances of regularising services of contract employees and implementing fee reimbursement to students remained on paper in the last three years.
‘Wasting public money’
Eligible poor were yet to be provided with the much-publicised double bedroom houses while women were not given representation in the State Cabinet. The TRS, however, indulged in spending lavish amounts on conducting its annual meeting at Warangal, the second biggest city in the State that had been neglected thus far in terms of development. The TDP-TS wanted the Chief Minister to give clarity on the pertinent questions raised through the open letter during the proposed public meeting on Friday.
