Supply likely to double

June 23, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:37 am IST - Hyderabad:

Works on the Malkajgiri drinking water project were supposed to begin around last year in May but due to the general elections, officials could not initiate the project. A senior HMWSSB official said that the project was delayed by several months due to other factors as well.

The senior HMWSSB official said that the water board will construct ground level storage reservoirs under the project in certain areas. The project will benefit residents of Defence Colony, Tirmulgherry, Sainikpuri, Gouthamnagar, Moula Ali, Vajpayee Nagar, Sainathpuram, Laxmi Narasimha Swamy Nagar and other areas, as the water supply is expected to almost double.
