‘Speed up land acquisition for NIMZ, Pharma City’

Minister for Industries Jupally Krishna Rao has asked the authorities to speed up land acquisition for the National Investment & Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) in Medak district and for the Pharma City in Ranga Reddy district. At a review meeting held here on Monday, the Minister instructed the officials to speed up the process of land acquisition for NIMZ since it had received the Centre’s approval already. Officials explained to the Minister that out 12,500 acres identified for NIMZ, acquisition of 3,500 acres would be completed by January-end in 2016.

On Mucherla Pharma city, the Minister expressed dissatisfaction over the pace of land acquisition stating that it was taking too long and the entire project was moving very slowly. He told the officials to ready the master plan early. The Minister directed the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) to go for global tenders for Pharma City and see to it that there was no compromise on the quality of works. Officials informed the Minister that 800 acres of land was handed over for Pharma City already. The Minister wanted the officials to convene a meeting of tahsildars and RDOs to discuss the issue of land acquisition. Managing Director of TSIIC E.V. Narasimha Reddy and other officials attended the review meeting.

Skill development

Meanwhile, the Minister instructed the officials to set up skill development centres at all district headquarters so that skilled employees would be made available readily to the new industries being set up. During the review on food parks the Minister asked the officials to identify the anchor unit to speed up the process of Buggapadu Food Park.
